Quality Engineer
Pay: Up to $70,000 - $80,000
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Reports To: Director of Quality
SUMMARY
The Quality Engineer will demonstrate technical leadership and provide strong support by developing technical solutions to complex problems requiring innovation and creativity. This individual will lead projects outside the usual scope, regularly initiate innovative procedures, and make strategic recommendations to improve processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Implement and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GMPs, including training.
- Develop and roll out internal audits and audit action plan follow-ups.
- Manage customer complaints and provide timely feedback to internal departments and customers.
- Manage non-conformance by identifying and resolving process deviations or non-conformances.
- Coordinate monthly Quality, Production, and Maintenance meetings; determine priorities based on severity.
- Participate in the Quality Steering Committee.
- Promote visibility, communication, and improvement of quality.
- Oversee validations, sanitization, and calibration activities for equipment.
- Provide technical support and coordination for packaging operations.
- Establish best practices and innovative solutions to industrial processes to improve production rates and quality output.
- Develop, monitor, and define actions for improving key metrics.
- Write, review, and maintain quality documents, forms, and records as necessary.
- Train and develop others as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Scientific field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cosmetic, personal care, or nutritional product manufacturing.
- Strong Excel and PC-based software skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with internal customers and external clients.
- Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve high performance.
- Experience with cGMP and CFR 21 Part 11 procedures; knowledge of Safety and OSHA regulations.
- Demonstrated safe behavior and support of department/plant safety goals through continuous improvement.
- Excellent technical skills; analytical thinker.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents and present information in both formal and informal settings.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather, and extreme temperatures.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
