Position Summary: The Dishwasher maintains clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas by cleaning dishes, equipment, and floors, and removing all garbage after each meal. Duties are performed in accordance with Maplewood Senior Livings philosophy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follows the posted work schedule and arrives on time and in appropriate work attire.
  • Responsible for maintaining the kitchen and other assigned area in a sanitary manner
  • Responsible for the proper washing of flatware, glassware, and other kitchen equipment including machine rinse pressure and water temperatures
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with coworkers and residents
  • Must be familiar with food handling procedures and regulations
  • Must know how to operate kitchen appliances such as the dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, coffee maker and ice machine
  • May be required to help with food preparation, inventory, maintenance as well food deliveries and shelve stock

Compliance & Safety

  • Follows emergency procedures
  • Understands the safety practices and procedures.
  • Reports on the job injuries to the supervisor before the end of the work shift on the day the injury occurs

Communication

  • Communicates effectively with supervisor and other staff
  • Advise supervisor and appropriate manager in any changes in physical and mental health of resident immediately.
  • Maintains acceptable attendance record, notifies supervisor if late or unable to work in accordance with personnel policies and follows work schedule

Education/Experience/Licensure/Certification:

  • Some kitchen experience is desirable
  • Basic knife skills required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
