Leasing Agent
Bay Property Management Group Northern Virginia is seeking a leasing agent to join our growing team. This individual will be responsible for the marketing, showing, and leasing of an assigned portfolio of apartments and single-family homes managed by BMG. These units are spread throughout Northern Virginia. This is a commission-only, sales-focused role with immense flexibility in schedule and location. Leasing agents use their own vehicle to travel between properties for showings and inspections, and can work from anywhere in the area to include home office. This position is well-suited for individuals who are disciplined, sales-motivated, and interested in learning the real estate market.
Compensation: Commission-based position earning $900 per executed lease. Agents will receive three weeks of paid training at $900 per week prior to transitioning to commission-only status. Typical annual earnings range from $65,000 to $95,000+, depending on performance.

What You Do All Day
Respond and follow up on inquiries via email, calls, and texts from potential renters
List and market assigned properties on appropriate websites. Update property listings as needed
Manage lease application process for assigned properties, including collecting necessary documents and signatures from multiple constituents
Maintain professional relationships with clients, coworkers and owners to create a smooth process for tenants
Show units to potential renters and be able to answer questions about the property, neighborhood, schools, and other pertinent information
Manage tenant move in process by liaising with property managers, tenants, and owners to acquire required documentation
Complete property inspections prior to move in utilizing the Maintenance Inspection form and uploading pictures
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
An active Virginia Real Estate License is required. The Leasing Agent is responsible for maintaining their license in good standing, including completing all continuing education requirements and covering associated licensing fees
Must maintain active memberships with NVAR, Sentrilock, and MLS; employee is responsible for all associated membership and access fees.
High school diploma
Self-motivated, sales-oriented
Persistent and not easily swayed
Able to work during regular business hours, non-traditional hours, and manage your own schedule
Able to read, write, and speak English; Spanish a plus
Build rapport with new clients
Listening and communication skills
Independently problem-solve and use professional judgement
Flexible and adaptable to changing sales market and company practice
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle
