Senior Electrical Engineer Heavy Industry
Lafayette, Indiana | Relocation Assistance Available
Full-Time | On-Site | Travel
Base salary: depends on experience, 100-140K

Manpower Engineering is partnering with a leading industrial client in Lafayette, Indiana, to find a Senior Electrical Engineer with a strong background in heavy industry. What Youll Be Doing:
  • Design, develop, and test electrical systems and equipment to meet performance and safety standards.
  • Lead capital projects from concept through completion, including budgeting and scheduling.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including unionized hourly staff, consultants, and clients.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance or production issues; continuously improve engineering processes.
  • Review and prepare technical drawings, specifications, and reports to ensure alignment with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay current with advancements in electrical engineering and integrate new technologies where applicable.
What Were Looking For:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and maintenance within a heavy equipment manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of experience using electrical CAD software for system design and simulation.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or otherwise eligible to access controlled technology per ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with industrial control systems (PLCs, motor control systems, HMIs).
  • Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic web tools.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience programming ABB robots and managing capital projects.
