As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. Youll be empowered with the training, tools, and resources to advance your career while making a real difference in the lives of those you serve. Every day, youll help create beautiful smiles and contribute to the health and well-being of the community.
What Youll Do:
Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments , materials, and equipment.
Prepare patients for surgery , including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.
Provide "chairside" assistance to the oral surgeon , anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.
Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.
Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.
Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.
Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.
Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.
Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.
Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.
Responsibilities
Greeting guests with a smile
Assisting Oral Surgeons with procedures
Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays
Preparing treatment rooms
Assisting with conscious and iv sedation
Performing X-rays
Charting existing and recommended treatments
Performing other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team
What do you need to have to be a part of our team?
Active Registered Dental Assistant License
Current CPR certification
Minimum of 1 year of specific oral surgery experience
Must be willing to travel within assigned areas
