As an Oral Surgery Dental Assistant at Ideal Dental, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care and support to both our patients and dental team. Youll be empowered with the training, tools, and resources to advance your career while making a real difference in the lives of those you serve. What Youll Do:

  • Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments , materials, and equipment.

  • Prepare patients for surgery , including applying topical anesthetics and explaining the procedure to help them feel at ease.

  • Provide "chairside" assistance to the oral surgeon , anticipating their needs and efficiently passing instruments.

  • Maintain a clear surgical field using suction hoses and other equipment.

  • Monitor patient vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, heart rate) and anesthesia levels.

  • Provide patients with detailed post-operative instructions for managing pain, preventing infection, and promoting healing.

  • Clean and disinfect the operating room and instruments after the procedure.

  • Schedule follow-up appointments and handle other administrative tasks as needed.

  • Monitor and replenish surgical supplies and inventory.

  • Operate X-ray and 3D scanning equipment to take and process dental radiographs.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests with a smile

  • Assisting Oral Surgeons with procedures

  • Sterilizing instruments and setting up trays

  • Preparing treatment rooms

  • Assisting with conscious and iv sedation

  • Performing X-rays

  • Charting existing and recommended treatments

  • Performing other duties as required to support the office and oral surgery team

What do you need to have to be a part of our team?

  • Active Registered Dental Assistant License

  • Current CPR certification

  • Minimum of 1 year of specific oral surgery experience

  • Must be willing to travel within assigned areas
