General Practice (Veterinarian)

Introduction
Our client is a privately owned practice, hiring for an Associate Veterinarian. They see small animals and a wide variety of exotics including birds, non-dangerous reptiles, amphibians, pocket pets, rabbits, ferrets, and poultry, with some wildlife rehabilitation cases.

Working Hours / Rota
The hospital is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Saturday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, and closed on Sunday. Doctors have flexibility to work a split shift (7:30-12/3-6), a PM shift from 10-6, or an early shift from 7:30-3:30. Appointments are 15 minutes for nail trims, suture removals, rechecks, and routine blood draws, and 30 minutes for sick or new patients and yearly exams with vaccines. Full-time is structured as 4 days (32 hours) with a rotating 1st and 3rd Saturday AM shift. Part-time is ideally 3 days per week with negotiable hours.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Associate Veterinarian will handle full general practice duties, including surgery, dentistry, internal medicine, and wellness care. This role is open to both experienced veterinarians and new graduates, with the owner doctor enthusiastic about teaching and mentoring, supported by the AVMA mentor vet program.

Practice Details
The practice is equipped with digital x-ray, EMR using Pulse, ultrasound, Abaxis CBC, three chemistry machines, VS Pro for clotting times, V-check for CPL and others, therapy laser, isoflurane anesthetic machines in both the surgery and dental room with a wet table, three exam rooms, Imagyst, an incubator/oxygen chamber, hot dog warming system, and ECG machine. It is a full-service general practice with some limited orthopedic procedures performed in-house. The hospital is well known for working with wildlife rehabilitation groups and conservation agents and for providing care for display animals at the Springfield Nature Center.

Team
The practice has one DVM and a support team of nine assistants / client service representatives. The environment is collaborative and mentoring-focused, ensuring growth and support for the incoming veterinarian.

Candidate Requirements

• Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)
• Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in
• Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
