Job Description

Introduction
Our client is an independently owned, multi-location emergency hospital on the Front Range of Colorado, based in Colorado Springs, seeking additional Emergency Veterinarians to join their growing team. This female-owned practice is known for prioritizing both high-quality patient care and the health and harmony of their staff. The flagship Colorado Springs location is a 24/7 emergency hospital that is AAHA-accredited and VECCS Level II certified, one of only two in Colorado, and operates within a larger specialty hospital. A second location was recently opened to meet the increasing demand from the community.

Working Hours / Rota
The full-time schedule includes 10 to 13 shifts per month, with an average of 36 to 40 scheduled hours per week. Shifts may be 8, 10, or 12 hours, depending on the location. Swing and overnight shifts are available, with a shift differential provided for overnight work. The hospital operates 24/7, and doctors rotate through weekends and holidays, allowing for requested time off to support work-life balance throughout the year.

Role Description and Responsibilities
The Emergency Veterinarian will manage a wide range of urgent and emergent cases, lead a strong technical team, and contribute to a supportive and collaborative culture. Clinical responsibilities include emergency and critical care, diagnostics, surgical procedures, and patient management. The hospital welcomes experienced emergency veterinarians and is also developing a comprehensive mentorship program for outstanding new graduates, with or without internship training.

Practice Details
The hospital features state-of-the-art equipment including endoscopy, bronchoscopy, digital radiology, multiple surgical suites with ventilators, ultrasound, high-flow oxygen, and CT scan. Both locations are equipped with advanced in-house laboratories offering blood chemistry, full differential CBC, coagulation profiles, blood gas analyzers, Sedivue urinalysis, sevoflurane anesthesia, telemetry, ECG, capnography, pulse oximetry, arterial blood pressure monitoring, and therapeutic laser. The practice sees over 15,000 emergent and urgent cases annually and fosters a positive, team-centered environment focused on professional growth and well-being.

Team
The practice is led by a highly collaborative team of emergency veterinarians and an experienced technical staff. The culture is built on mentorship, teamwork, and mutual support, providing an excellent environment for both seasoned professionals and new graduates to thrive.
