Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Sharon, CT
Assignment Length: 13 Weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Shift: Nights – 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, Every Other Weekend Required

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week contract assignment at a 78-bed general hospital in Connecticut. This role involves comprehensive care for patients in the LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum) setting, including couplet care and low-risk antepartum, as well as attending all deliveries and supporting the transition nursery.

This is a 48-hour/week assignment, ideal for RNs who thrive in fast-paced environments and want to make a meaningful impact in maternal and newborn care.

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum periods.

• Perform newborn transition assessments and care in the nursery.

• Monitor fetal well-being, interpret fetal monitoring strips, and intervene as appropriate.

• Support and educate patients and families throughout childbirth and postpartum.

• Attend all deliveries and manage obstetric emergencies in collaboration with the healthcare team.

• Occasionally float (no patient assignment) to Med/Surg or Senior Behavioral Health for brief 2-hour rotations as helping hands.

Requirements:

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• Active Connecticut RN License

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)

• Fetal Monitoring training/certification

Required Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in LDRP or Labor & Delivery

Preferred Qualifications:

• C-EFM (Certified in Electronic Fetal Monitoring)

• STABLE Program Certification

Shift Details:

• Shift Time: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

• Schedule: 48 hours per week

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Float Requirement: Yes, as "helping hands" only – no patient assignment; rotates every 2 hours to Med/Surg or Senior Behavioral Health as needed
