Our client, a leading organization in the energy and utility sector, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant Senior to join their team. As an Accounting Assistant Senior, you will be an integral part of the Accounting Department supporting various financial processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully within the organization.

Location: Canton, OH

Pay Range: $30-$35/hr. PLUS benefits

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Start Date: mid-November

What's the Job?

  • Provide general accounting clerical support within the assigned Accounting Department.
  • Prepare, process, and review recurring accounting transactions such as invoices, remittance advices, and customer checks, exercising independent judgment.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies related to recurring accounting transactions.
  • Assist in reviewing general ledger account activity for accuracy.
  • Assist in the development and documentation of processes and procedures.

What's Needed?

  • Associate Degree in Business or Accounting with at least 5 years of in-depth experience with accounting transactional data, invoice processing, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • OR a High School diploma/GED with 8 years of accounting experience.
  • Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions and adapt to changing circumstances and requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds when working in the Remittance Processing department.
