Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Inpatient Pharmacist for a 13-week assignment at a Level II Trauma Center in Fredericksburg, VA. This is a full-time role with guaranteed 40 hours per week, primarily on day shifts with rotating hours. The ideal candidate will have strong acute care experience, proficiency in Epic, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive inpatient pharmacy services in a short-term acute care hospital.

• Manage pharmacotherapy and intravenous medication administration.

• Utilize Epic and other computerized hospital pharmacy systems (Pyxis, Carousel) for accurate medication dispensing and documentation.

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

• Participate in weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled.

• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Current VA pharmacist license in good standing.

• PharmD or RPh preferred; B.S. Pharm. required.

• Minimum 1 year of acute care pharmacy experience within the last 3 years (residency preferred).

• Epic experience is required.

• Experience with intravenous therapy and pharmacotherapy management.

• Prior experience in a computerized hospital pharmacy setting preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Shift Details:

• Start Date: ASAP

• Shift Hours: Rotating shifts (06:30-15:00, 07:00-15:30, or 14:30-23:00)

• Weekend/Holiday: Rotation required

• On-Call: Not required

• Average Patient Census: 330-360

• Block Scheduling: At manager’s discretion

• Locals Accepted: Yes
