Optometrist

Advanced Vision Care is seeking to add a new Doctor of Optometry to join our team. 

This southwest Michigan private practice was established in 1998, and currently consists of a glaucoma specialist and an optometrist. We hope to expand by adding another ophthalmologist this year as well.

We are the premier glaucoma practice in the greater Kalamazoo area, with a population of around 300,000.  Kalamazoo is located halfway between Detroit and Chicago, and is only 30 miles from Lake Michigan.  There are many diverse areas to live, from the downtown historic district to the surrounding countryside with numerous lakes.  Kalamazoo offers many opportunities for outdoor activities, yet also has a vibrant downtown arts, theater, and music scene.

Starting salary is between $120,000 and $150,000.  Included is four weeks paid vacation, professional liability and health insurance, and a 401k plan.

We foster a fun working environment, while providing top notch medical and surgical care.  You will be expected to perform complete examinations for all general eye care patients, manage many patients with glaucoma, and assist with post-op care for cataract and glaucoma surgeries.  We have a great support team of ophthalmic technicians.  Also, our glaucoma specialist is always available to assist you in managing your patients.

We have a strong relationship with our fellow ophthalmologists and optometrists, and have never participated in co-management.  We are proud of our long and steady history of referrals from colleagues in the area, a testament to the excellent care we provide our patients.
