Job Description
The Dental Hygienist plays a key role in patient care and services at Broward Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. The ideal candidate should possess excellent time management skills, proficiency in providing adjunctive services, strong communication skills, confidence, and a positive attitude. The role involves a variety of clinical duties that support high-quality care in the prevention and treatment of dental disease, promote dental health, ensure the efficient operation of the practice, and foster positive relationships with patients, team members, and dentists.

Job Duties:

• Perform all hygiene functions according to office policies.
• Accurately document patients' health profiles and review them at each visit, including allergies, current medications, surgeries, and any new medical conditions.
• Document the patient’s chief complaint or concern, relay this information to the dentist, and record how it will be addressed.
• Record all existing dental restorations in the patient’s chart.
• Expose and process necessary radiographs as prescribed by the dentist, utilizing digital technology.
• Use an intraoral camera to document the condition of existing teeth, dental restorations, soft tissue health, lesions, or areas of concern.
• Update photos as dental treatment is completed.
• Record the dentist’s comprehensive treatment plan, including the sequence and priority of treatment for both soft and hard tissues.
• Perform full mouth debridement if prescribed by the dentist.
• Perform periodontal scaling and root planing for patients diagnosed with periodontal disease as prescribed by the dentist.
• Apply chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of periodontal disease when prescribed by the dentist.
• Provide patient education on their oral health status and how to improve or maintain the best possible oral health.
• Perform charting duties with accuracy and efficiency, utilizing auxiliary personnel when available.
• Maintain required continuing education (CE) credits, CPR certification, and radiology certificate.

Minimum Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited or certified dental hygiene program.
• Florida State-issued Hygiene License.
• CPR certification.
• State-issued Radiology Certificate.
• Excellent communication skills and bedside manner.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Computer proficiency is required.
• Positive, happy attitude, with the ability to project this attitude to others.
• Flexible and adaptable to a continuously evolving environment.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift light to moderate amounts of weight (e.g., boxes of medical/facility supplies) up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods.

• Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
• Job Type: Part- time
• Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience.
• Pay: $35.00 to $45.00 per hour.

• Hollywood, FL 33021 (Must reliably commute or be planning to relocate before starting work).

License/Certification:

• Registered Dental Hygienist (Preferred)
• Dental License (Preferred)
