The Business Office Team is responsible for collaborating and leading the Imaging Center team in providing excellent patient care and supporting the operational goals for both the Center and the organization. This includes all customer and patient-facing responsibilities including welcoming, registering, and overall patient coordination, as well as phone correspondence, scheduling appointments, inventory, and medical record management. The upper levels of this series also include the training, supervision, and management of Business Office team members. The overall scope for this series is designed to ensure the management and resources are available to maintain a quality, high functioning, and customer friendly Outpatient Imaging Center.

Requirements

JOB SUMMARY: The Scheduler I performs office functions of a specialized nature, requiring independent
judgement in a medical setting.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• One (1) year of administrative medical office experience

• One (1) year call center experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to provide documentation accurately & concisely
• Knowledge of medical & radiology terminology
• Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English
• Ability to professionally interact with managers, co-workers, clients, referring providers, patients, and vendors.
• Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital
archiving, and retrieving of data.
• Ability to recognize/define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and correct errors.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborates with the Imaging Center team to provide excellent patient care and support operational goals.
- Cross-trains in all areas of the business office, including Scheduling, Pre-Auth and Patient Coordinator.
- Handles phone correspondence, scheduling of appointments, coordinates/assembles orders with daily
schedules and distributes to clinical peers.
- Demonstrates success in customer service, phone etiquette, communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiently maintains and uses knowledge of office equipment including, but not limited to, fax machines,
computers, and printers.
- Maintains records and files, compiles data, and prepares reports.
- May perform supply inventory management and/or medical record management.
- Researches requests and provides support to resolve and answer.
- May perform special projects that require additional training and skills. Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Participates as a team member and is accountable for personal work responsibilities and takes initiative to help
others.
- Regular and reliable attendance which includes team meetings, trainings, and in-services as scheduled.
