Brown & Brown is seeking a Risk Control Consultant to join our growing team in Minneapolis, MN!

The Risk Control Consultant support clients in identifying and mitigating risk through safety audits, regulatory compliance, training, and service planning, while maintaining strong relationships with insurers, service providers, and internal teams to ensure high-quality, responsive risk management solutions.

How You Will Contribute:

  • Develop knowledge of a client's business and industry and their specific risk profile through their business model, loss history, etc . Identify client exposures to loss and means to address them .

  • Develop and maintain relationship with insurer loss control representatives and other service providers . Keeps abreast of changing conditions and innovations . Coordinate services of insurer safety engineers.

  • Develops and maintains client service plans, manages mid-term changes and assist in stewardship reviews .

  • Promptly and accurately respond to client requests. If responsibilities are delegated, follows through to ensure client received timely response .

  • Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of regulatory standards (OSHA, MSHA, CPSC, NFPA, and DOT) .

  • Assist account management in reviewing risk/loss control survey reports that address hazards and controls associated with all lines of insurance and provide feedback and assistance to clients on compliance .

  • Collaborate as a team with our internal and external partners and customers.

  • Conduct OSHA 10 Hour and 30 Hour training as client needs dictate.

  • Working knowledge of Fleet Safety Programs and related training.

  • Attend/Participate in client safety meetings.

  • Perform comprehensive safety and health audits for clients.

  • Attends Continuing Education classes.

  • Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Already have or working toward insurance and other professional designations such as CSP, CIH, ARM, or ALCM.

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • Bachelor's/ Master's Degree in safety or related field is desirable with five or more years of risk control/safety experience .

  • Minimum 5 years experience .

  • An outgoing personality with excellent communication skills are essential in working with our clients and internal staff .

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to develop risk improvement solutions .

  • Computer skills required including internet search skills, keyboarding, etc.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the team member to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.

Pay Range

$150k - $165k Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
