A mental health treatment organization is seeking a psychiatrist for locum tenens coverage.

This position involves providing 30-minute weekly psychotherapy and medication management sessions for adult patients, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary treatment team and supervising psychiatric nurse practitioners or physician assistants as needed. Responsibilities include documenting assessments and treatment updates in the electronic health record, evaluating patient acuity to guide clinical and emergency care decisions, and incorporating lifestyle and preventive health recommendations into holistic treatment plans. The role also requires communicating treatment recommendations, advocating for patient care with staff and managed care representatives, and sharing on-call responsibilities for after-hours emergencies (approximately 1 week every 8 weeks, with no in-person assessments).
