Position Overview

The Department of Speech and Hearing Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University invites applications for a clinical-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor with expertise in speech-language pathology. This position is responsible for overseeing the operations and clinical education activities of the Flaum Fluency Program within the Department.

Performance Objectives

• Supervise clinical graduate students in speech-language pathology.
• Teach courses in speech-language pathology in clinically-applied areas associated with their area of expertise.
• Grow the Flaum Fluency Program and expand Ohio States presence in fluency nationally.
• Develop and maintain off-campus practicum placements and community partnerships.
• Participate in departmental service through committee work and curriculum development.
• Contribute to scholarly activities and support ongoing research initiatives
• Engage with alumni and benefactors to foster relationships and identify fundraising opportunities for the Center and Clinic.

Education and Experience Requirements Required: Applicants must have a masters or doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field, demonstrated expertise in fluency disorders, eligibility for state licensure in Ohio, and be a holder of the ASHA certificate of clinical competence. Willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to mentor students representing varied perspectives and academic backgrounds is essential.

Experience Desired : Clinical experience in pediatric through adult articulation and language disorders is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to building an intellectual community in line with OSUs Shared Values (see below).

Department Information

The Department of Speech and Hearing Science consists of 22 full-time faculty across the tenure, clinical, and research tracks. The Department has four main academic programs: the BA in Speech and Hearing Science, MA in Speech-Language Pathology, AuD in Audiology, and the PhD. The Department includes the OSU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, which is located on campus and provides a full suite of services in speech-language pathology and audiology to the central Ohio community.
