Nurse Practitioner

MEDIKO is a privately-owned, correctional healthcare company based in Richmond, VA. We deliver compassionate, comprehensive medical and mental health services to underserved populations in correctional facilities. At MEDIKO, our people are our most important resource.

We now seek a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ENP) for Part Time work (2 hours per week or 4 hours every-other-week) at the Pender County Jail in Burgaw, NC. Our healthcare providers have autonomy when caring for patients and use strong assessment skills to quickly identify risk factors and provide quality patient care.

What You'll Do

• Conduct H&Ps.
• Provide evaluation and treatment for patients with acute and chronic conditions using both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical therapies.
• Order labs and other tests as indicated.
• Maintain professional interactions with patients, other medical staff members, and custody officials.

What We Require:

• Completion of accredited MSN or post-graduate program in a Primary Care, clinical nursing program leading to eligibility as FNP, AGNP, or ENP.
• North Carolina APRN or equivalent license, hold (or willing to obtain) DEA Registration, & state Controlled Substance credential if applicable.
• Must hold active CPR/BLS prior to start date.
• Must pass Criminal background check, Security Clearance and Pre-employment Drug Screen.
