SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced SAP Security/Basis professional to join our IT team. This role will be responsible for managing the technical foundation of our SAP landscape, including system administration, performance tuning, patching, upgrades, security role management, and compliance. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in SAP Basis and Security, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can collaborate across functional and technical teams to ensure system reliability, security, and scalability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience, including installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning across SAP platforms (e.g., ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, BTP).
• Install, configure, and maintain SAP systems (S/4HANA, CALM, Fiori, BTP connections, web dispatcher, cloud connector, etc.).
• Strong background in change and transport management processes, including tools such as Cloud ALM, Rev-Trac, and adherence to ITIL practices.
• Proven experience managing SAP landscapes in hybrid environments, including on-premise, cloud (e.g., SAP RISE, AWS), and hosted platforms.
• Manage SAP user accounts, roles, and authorizations to ensure security compliance.
• Solid understanding of SAP security concepts, system monitoring, and system health management using tools like SAP Cloud ALM, or equivalent.
• Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Plan and execute SAP system upgrades, patches, and support package installations.
• Manage BTP global accounts.
• Monitor entitlement and licensure usage on all SAP products.
• Manage Fiori basis and security settings and ensure high runtime performance for all Fiori applications.
• Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness for SAP environments.
• Work with auditors and compliance teams to provide documentation and evidence for SOX, GDPR, and other regulatory frameworks.
• Experience coordinating disaster recovery planning and execution for SAP systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of collaborating across IT and business teams.
• Manage relationship with SAP support using SAP for Me tools such as CSRs and incidents.
• Collaborate with functional, development, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues and deliver projects.
• Support integration between SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Document procedures, standards, and system changes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of hands-on SAP Basis administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of SAP Security concepts, including roles, profiles, and authorization objects.
• Experience with S/4HANA, Fiori, and SAP Cloud connectivity.
• Familiarity with SAP upgrades, migrations, and OS/DB concepts (HANA preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
• Knowledge of IT security frameworks (e.g., SOX, GDPR, NIST) is a plus.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY

• Experience with SAP BTP, Integration Suite, or Event Mesh.
• Experience with a greenfield SAP S/4 Hana Private Cloud project.
• Exposure to cloud infrastructure.
• Certifications in SAP Basis or Security.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • 4 year degree preferred

  • For those based in St Louis, Missouri we offer a hybrid work schedule. Candidates living in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, N. Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia may also be considered for remote work.
