Job Title: Global Health Security Program Manager Department: Veterinary Medicine | Veterinary Preventive Medicine

The College of Veterinary Medicine at The Ohio State University is seeking applicants for a Global Health Security Program Manager.

The Program Manager (PM) will work closely with principal investigator (PI), Co-PI faculty members, operation and business staff across Global One Health initiative associated units to manage large portfolio of Global Health Security (GHS)/ International Health Rgulation (IHR) cooperative agreement funded by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The project involves managing activities including key milestones such as raid response, surveillance & laboratory capacity building, and workforce development related milestones as defined by the cooperative agreement (CoAg). The PM will collaboratively work with sub awardee organization, the Global One Health, LLC in Ethiopia. S/he will support monthly invoice processing for the project and other related CoAgs as needed. In addition, PM will provide advice on solutions to problems which require an in-depth knowledge of performance measures/ monitoring & evaluation in partnership with GHS project stakeholders in Ethiopia. S/he will offer technical assistance and monitoring support to the efforts of CDC and the government of Ethiopia working collaboratively with local partners to improve communication and engagement; and will participate in building capacity in the areas of surveillance and epidemiology, laboratory systems, workforce development, and emergency management and response at national and subnational levels.

Additional Information:

Education & Experience: Minimum expectation with Master of Public Health, Epidemiologist with background in Public Health/ Veterinary Medicine/ Medicine/infectious diseases/ Biosecurity; at least 3-5 years experience in coordinating public health programs at regional, national, local levels preferably working in partnership with developing country partners. Project management and project budget and financing skills is key. Knowledge of Global Health Security is added advantage. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, seeking advice and support when necessary. Excellent communication and writing skills. Experience in development of strategic documents, briefing documents, and reports.

Professional Skills: Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, effective time management and prioritization practices, sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information. Excellent problem solving skills with ability to analyze situations, identify existing or potential problems and recommend solutions. Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism, and a cooperative attitude.

Target Salary Range: $51,500.00 - $67,250.00
