SECURITY OFFICER On-Site Position - Columbus, OH Summary The Security Officer will report directly to the Security Operations Coordinator. The Security Officer will perform routine tasks relating to security operations, customer service, and incident response. The Security Officer will work collaboratively with the Security Operations Coordinator to maintain a safe and secure environment while providing excellent customer service to employees and visitors. Primary Functions Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure all areas are secure and properly locked. Monitor security surveillance systems for Surge HQ to identify and respond to any suspicious activities or breaches. Provide a welcoming and professional presence at entry points, greeting employees, visitors, and vendors. Support reception-related tasks including visitor processing and email and telephone communication. Enforce company security policies and procedures related to security, physical access, and visitor management. Escort contractors throughout the facility during interim visit, as necessary. Compile and send incident reports to the Security Operations Coordinator. Facilitate emergency action plan procedures during emergency situations. Ability to multitask and must be open to different challenges each day. All other duties that may arise to ensure the successful operation of the company. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional security-related training or certifications are a plus. Prior experience in security, customer service, or a related field preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong customer service skills. Keen observation skills to detect unusual or suspicious activities and respond appropriately. Capacity to think quickly and make informed decisions during security incidents or emergencies. Ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the department and cross-functional teams. High standards of integrity, honesty, and ethical conduct. Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, as well as lift and carry objects as required. Familiar with computer software and services, Microsoft, email, etc. Ability to remain composed and make rational decisions during stressful or emergency situations. Proficient in maintaining accurate logs, incident reports, and other written documentation. Training and certifications in first aid and/or CPR or willing to complete training. Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality. Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with colleagues, visitors, and external partners.
