About the Role
Were looking for a detail-oriented and mechanically skilled Compressor Assembler to join our 2nd shift team. In this hands-on role, youll be responsible for assembling and disassembling Frick and other compressors, diagnosing issues, and ensuring each unit meets our high standards of performance and safety.
What Youll Do
- Assemble and disassemble new and rebuilt compressors using:
- Pneumatic and electric hand tools
- 100-ton press
- Oxygen-acetylene torch
- Design and fabricate safe methods for dismantling locked compressors
- Inspect internal components for wear and machining issues using precision measuring tools
- Diagnose root causes of compressor failures and report findings
- Determine usability of parts (scrap, rework, or reuse) with minimal supervision
- Align and fit parts accurately to ensure optimal compressor performance
- Interpret sales orders and blueprints independently
- Maintain detailed teardown reports, logs, and schedules
- Coordinate with other departments for parts, scheduling, and shipments
- Uphold 5S standards for a clean and safe work environment
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen and problem-solving teams
