As a subject matter expert on HR compliance, youll partner across teams to plan, perform, and lead various compliance reviews and initiatives, driving ethical practices, reducing risk, and shaping policies and procedures that support a culture of integrity.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk assessments, analyze, test, consult, and report on compliance activity for employment laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with business leaders to develop and implement remediation actions for identified compliance issues. Identifies innovation and continuous improvement opportunities. Follows through to develop ideas in collaboration with HR partners.
- Lead the enhancement, implementation and maintenance of the HR Compliance program, internal processes, documentation files, and other related records on more complex subjects, ensuring that our records and resources are up-to-date and remain accurate. Includes the creation of various reports and metrics for trend analysis.
- Develop and deliver enterprise-required HR compliance training content (e.g., Harassment Prevention, Time Tracking), partnering with key stakeholders to ensure instructional design, legal accuracy, and alignment with organizational policies.
- Conduct regular meetings and provide multi-level and multi-issue compliance consulting and advisory services to the Human Resources department.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment laws and HR regulatory trends through professional development activities. Apply insights to strengthen and evolve HR programs and practices.
- Support internal and external audits, including responding to inquiries and preparing the required documentation.
- Partner with Legal, Risk, and Internal Audit teams to resolve compliance-related issues. Maintain lines of communication with Office of Corporate Compliance to provide line of sight.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Director of HR Policy, Compliance, and Operations. This is an individual contributor role.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate degree in Human Resources (HR), business administration, or related field. Studies in pre-law preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Project management or process related certifications preferred. Progress toward related certifications (PHR, SPHR) preferred.
Experience: Typically, eight or more years of related work experience in human resources, legal, compliance, audit, business, or a related field.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Able to build and foster relationships. Demonstrates strong communication skills. Proven ability to set priorities, organize work, and meet timelines. Creative, innovative, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Able to optimally evaluate and recommend solutions to complex compliance issues. Strong research and documentation development skills. Data analysis, insights, and reporting experience are a plus. Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
