Labor & Delivery Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Experience:

24 months of role experience is required with some in the last 12 months.

Must have at least 24 months of Labor & Delivery Unit experience within the past 4 years.

Requirements:

Candidates must have a California license (required for submission).

This role may require floating to additional units and locations

Local & travel allowed. Candidates living Additional Details:

An interview may not be available prior to offer.

Required Skills/Experience:

• High risk unit, couplet care. Must be willing to do it all from start to finish. Must circulate c-sections & feel comfortable in all aspects of LDRP.
• Required to titrate drips: Pitocin
• Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips on moms in PACU only

Types of Patients on Unit: Preterm labor/bleeding/inductions/cesarean sections/hypertension

Unit Details:

• FBC - OB / L&D / PP (LDRP)
• L&D Beds 10
• OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections? 2
• Triage beds 3 OB-ED and 3 antepartum testing used for OB ED overflow
• Postpartum beds 12
• Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios? Ratios 1:3-4 couplets, LD anywhere from 1:1 to 1:2 , 1:1-3 antepartums

Previous Employment Requirements: Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity within the past year. Candidates who were employed PRN through outside firms will be considered.

Shift & Scheduling:

• Every other weekend and rotate with staff on holidays
• If placed on call - response time is 30 minutes

Floating Requirements:

• All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen. No in house floating.
• Must be able to float to MB - first to float.

Facility holidays: 01/01/2025, 11/27/2025, 12/25/2025. Number of holidays allowed off: 1. Start assignment restriction: 14 days

1 reference from last 12 months (Manager/Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

Drivers license required for submission

Certifications:

BLS (Basic Life Support)

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program 8th Edition)

Advanced AWHONN FHM (Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring)

STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway. Blood Pressure, Lab work and Emotional Support)
