Industrial Janitor

Job Summary:

The industrial janitor position is responsible for providing a clean, presentable and safe environment through a variety of custodial duties. This position will work under limited supervision and requires daily action to maintain optimal building condition.

Summary of essential Job functions:

• Perform basic housekeeping/cleaning tasks; dusting, sweeping, mopping
• Operate basic cleaning equipment (vacuum, mop, carpet and/or hard floor cleaner)
• Dust/wash furniture, walls, machines, equipment routinely

• Daily trash removal in all assigned areas of the shop
• Daily exterior landscape inspections, remove and dispose of debris
• Assist with snow removal and maintaining safe walkways during winter months
• Daily restroom checks for cleanliness and supplies; service as needed       
• Adhere to company safety policies contributing to a safe work environment

Summary of secondary Job functions:

• Assist with setting up conference rooms and/or breakrooms for employee meetings/events
• Perform other duties as assigned by management
• Assist maintenance technicians as needed

Qualifications required:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Able to climb ladders/use appropriate fall protection that may be required for cleaning equipment. I.e. Scissors lift.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Excellent attendance record
• Flexibility to assist with on-call/overtime work if needed
• 1 Year Previous janitorial/custodian experience preferred
• Able to lift 30-50 lbs
• Must have reliable transportation
