Overview

GDC IT Solutions is currently seeking a Senior .NET Developer to work on-site in Columbus, Ohio with the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS). This position requires candidates to be located within commuting distance of Columbus and offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a mission-driven public safety environment

Position Overview

As a Senior .NET Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying modern applications while also rewriting legacy applications into .NET solutions. You will work closely with ODPS staff, including project managers, analysts, QA testers, and other developers, in an agile development environment. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to provide technical guidance and support for scalable and user-friendly solutions that align with ODPS standards.

  • Gather requirements, design, develop, test, and deploy .NET applications.

  • Rewrite legacy applications into modern .NET solutions using C#, ASP.NET Core MVC, Web API, and SQL Server.

  • Implement N-tier architecture and ensure compliance with ODPS coding standards.

  • Collaborate with project managers, analysts, QA testers, and developers in an agile environment.

  • Develop RESTful APIs and microservices using .NET Core and .NET 5/6/8.

  • Create and optimize SQL Server databases, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.

  • Design and implement secure SOA solutions with WCF.

  • Use Azure DevOps (TFS) for code repository strategies, code promotion, recovery, and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Ensure applications are mobile-compliant and meet modern development practices.

  • Create presentations, demo changes, and provide technical customer support.

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other developers.


Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of ASP.NET development experience using C#.

  • 10+ years of experience with Entity Framework (EF) 4.0 or later.

  • 10+ years of SQL Server development experience, including optimization and advanced database objects.

  • 10+ years of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) development and securing WCF services.

  • 10+ years of experience with Azure DevOps (TFS) for version control, code promotion, and recovery.

  • 7+ years of experience in Agile methodology.

  • 5+ years of experience developing RESTful APIs and web services in .NET Core and .NET 5/6/8.

  • 5+ years of experience with Azure DevOps (git, boards, CI/CD pipelines).

  • 5+ years of experience developing mobile-compliant applications.

  • 2+ years of experience with Microservices architecture.

  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft C# .NET Core and .NET 5/6/8 frameworks.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, leadership, and customer service skills.

  • Proven ability to provide technical mentoring and leadership to development teams.

  • Demonstrated success in public sector or public safety-related IT projects.

  • Experience presenting technical solutions and changes to non-technical audiences.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
