Job Overview:

Fairview is looking for a Supervisor- Payroll to join our team! The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for leading the day to day payroll activities, including work assignments, scheduling, performance management and documentation and process improvement efforts to ensure seamless payroll processing.

Position Details:

  • 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period)
  • day shift
  • no weekends
  • Fully remote, salaried position

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Payroll team, including day to day activities, workload, performance management and scheduling
  • Creates and maintains department process flows and standard work documents
  • Collaborates with other departments that are key partners in payroll processing
  • Provides training to all new department staff
  • Provides guidance and support in regard to troubleshooting payroll issues
  • Responds to and resolves escalated issues and/or unique or complex requests from customers
  • Actively leads the creation and implementation of process improvement for the payroll process
  • Actively participates and leads to create and implement improvements utilizing LEAN methodology and
    principles.
  • Mentors and provides day to day direction for the Payroll Specialists.
  • Audits work of team to ensure accuracy within all payroll activities.
  • Utilizes various systems to process payroll timely and accurately
  • Provides exemplary customer services to all Fairview employees, managers, HR partners and outside vendors,
    agencies
  • Understands and executes Fairview policies, contracts, and processes
  • Understands the cause and effect of payroll processing and how it relates to other departments work streams
  • Understands State and Federal legal requirements, union contracts and pay policies
  • Participates in changes to the payroll system by assisting the Payroll Director with testing of rule/validation table
    changes

Required

Experience

  • 3 years of payroll experience

Preferred

Education

  • Associate degree in Human Resources, Accounting, Tax or related field
  • 5 years of payroll experience

Experience

  • Experience in a complex organization
  • Experience in a union environment
  • Lawson and/or Kronos knowledge

License/Certification/Registration

  • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional)

The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE).
