Purpose of Role
Responsible for owning and executing the end-to-end content strategy across digital platforms, with a focus on writing and optimizing key content touchpoints such as educational top-of-funnel articles, paid and organic landing pages, product page copy, Help Center resources, FAQs, and related materials. Drives engagement, customer education, and conversion by ensuring all content is strategically aligned, performance-oriented within organic marketing channels, and supportive of overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
- Leads the creation of net-new content across key digital surfaces, ensuring coverage at all stages of the buyer journey, from awareness through decision-making, while collaborating with cross-functional partners to maintain consistent messaging across all channels.
- Owns the optimization of published content and landing pages with a focus on driving organic search visibility, improving rankings, and boosting qualified traffic.
- Develops and refines content strategies specifically for the Reverse Mortgage Education section, ensuring that content educates, empowers, and establishes Finance of America as the trusted authority in this space.
- Writes and edits content that is not only clear and compliant but also engaging, human-centered, and optimized for search behavior.
- Collaborates with SEO, marketing, UX, analytics, and compliance partners to build SEO-driven content roadmaps and prioritize content opportunities based on search trends, customer insights, and performance data.
- Translates complex financial topics into accessible digital content, building confidence and understanding among older adult homeowners.
- Uses analytics tools and qualitative feedback (e.g., GA4, Power BI, keyword rankings, content performance data) to guide iteration and identify scalable opportunities for organic growth.
- Ensures best practices in accessibility (ADA/WCAG) and user experience/design (UX/UI) are consistently applied across all digital properties.
- Creates and executes content writing guidelines that ensure optimal visibility and engagement in both traditional search results (SERPs) and emerging AI-powered search experiences, including Google’s AI Overviews, AI mode, and large language models (LLMs).
- Partners closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure all content meets regulatory standards while still delivering clarity and impact.
- Acts as a hands-on contributor—writing, editing, strategizing, and operationalizing content improvements at pace.
- Leverages self-serve content management and publishing tools to independently execute updates, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to brand guidelines.

Qualifications - Experience/Skills/Competencies
- Minimum 8 years of experience in digital content strategy, content marketing, or editorial management with an emphasis in search-driven content strategy.
- Demonstrated success in building content strategies that balance creativity and business performance goals, particularly through SEO-focused optimization and strategic content scaling.
- Strong track record of writing and editing high-quality, search-optimized content, ideally within financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated industries.
- Ability to simplify complex financial topics into engaging, educational resources tailored to different audience segments.
- Skilled in SEO tools (e.g., SEOclarity, SEMrush, Keyword Planner), analytics platforms (GA4, Power BI), and content management systems (WordPress, Salesforce Marketing Cloud).
- Hands-on experience in content optimization for engagement and conversion, including A/B testing, personalization, and search-led content roadmaps.
- Experience in cross-functional collaboration, especially with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and UX teams, to balance creativity with regulatory requirements.
- Strong editorial background with the ability to maintain brand voice while experimenting with new content formats and growth tactics.
- Creative yet analytical mindset to balance storytelling with data insights to deliver compelling, measurable content.
- Experience in financial literacy or educational content creation is a strong plus.

Compensation
The base salary range for this position is ($123,600 - $154,500) inclusive of all geographical differences in the labor market. The base salary for the position will be determined based on factors such as the candidate’s work location, skills, education, and experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members in determining any final offer.
