The Assistant Site Director of Behavioral Health supports the Behavioral Health Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the facility's behavioral health program. This role assists with staff coordination, program compliance, and multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure quality, patient-centered mental health services. The Assistant Site Director of Behavioral Health serves as a resource to behavioral health staff, helps manage workflows, and acts as a liaison between the clinical team, medical staff, and correctional leadership.

  • Assist the Site Director of Behavioral Health with day-to-day program oversight.

  • Help coordinate caseloads, schedules, and workflow to ensure timely and efficient delivery of behavioral health services.

  • Support implementation of policies, procedures, and program initiatives.

  • Provide guidance and support to behavioral health staff under the direction of the Site Director of Behavioral Health.

  • Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring of new team members.

  • Act as a point of contact for staff when the Site Director of Behavioral Health is unavailable.

  • Support staff in addressing patient needs, concerns, or crises.

  • Advocate for the mental health needs of patients while ensuring compliance with ethical and professional standards.

  • Promote patient rights and help foster a supportive care environment.

  • Work with medical, psychiatric, nursing, and correctional staff to coordinate care and support treatment goals.

  • Participate in treatment team meetings, case discussions, and program planning.

  • Serve as a liaison between behavioral health staff and other facility departments as needed.

  • Assist in monitoring documentation and reporting to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with policies.

  • Support quality improvement efforts and preparation for audits or inspections.

  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.

  • Serve as a role model for professional conduct and patient-centered care.

  • Develop leadership skills with the goal of assuming higher-level responsibilities when appropriate.

  • Assist with projects, initiatives, and special assignments as delegated.

  • Provide program support during staff shortages, high-volume periods, or emergencies.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What we Ask of YOU:

  • A current, valid, and unrestricted state license, certification, and/or credential authorizing practice in the applicable clinical role (e.g., MD, DO, DDS, DMD, NP, PA, RN, LPN, LMHP, etc.) is required.

  • A High School diploma or GED is required.

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or a related field is preferred for applicable roles.

  • For advanced clinical roles, completion of an accredited graduate or professional program (e.g., medical school, dental school, nurse practitioner program, etc.) is required.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical practice, with at least 1-2 years in a correctional healthcare or underserved population setting preferred.

  • Experience in diagnosis, treatment planning, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility setting is highly preferred.

  • Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved).
