We are hiring immediately for a Veterinary Practice Manager to lead our Lake Charles hospital. This is a full-time leadership role with annual bonus potential and relocation support available for the right candidate. You are:

  • An experienced veterinary leader with 3+ years of management experience

  • Passionate about servant leadership and team development

  • A strong communicator who knows how to align teams and solve problems

  • Confident in inventory management, KPI tracking, and client service excellence

  • Calm under pressure, yet proactive and strategic when challenges arise

 

The Opportunity

As Practice Manager, you’ll be the heartbeat of our Lake Charles hospital. This is not a back-office role — you’ll be present, hands-on, and actively shaping both team culture and client experience every day.

What you’ll do:

  • Team, Culture & Communication

  • Lead with trust and clarity: set shared goals, recognize wins, and create psychological safety.

  • Keep communication rhythms strong: focused huddles, thoughtful 1:1s, transparent updates; invite feedback and close the loop.

  • Grow people and teamwork: hire for culture add, deliver structured onboarding, encourage cross-training and development plans; hold one another accountable with respect.

  • Elevate Client & Patient Experience

  • Set shared service standards with the team; model empathy and recognize great service.

  • Coach consistent, warm communication (phone, front desk, curbside, discharge) and close the loop on feedback/reviews.

  • Drive Operations

  • Co-create efficient schedules and workflows; remove roadblocks and keep daily huddles focused.

  • Give team ownership of inventory and vendor relationships; maintain pars and negotiate for value.

  • Review KPIs together and turn insights into simple weekly actions; support accurate billing and long-term profitability.

  • Ensure Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain OSHA/DEA/TVB compliance with clear checklists, training rhythms, and documented protocols.

  • Safeguard controlled substances with team-based counts, chain-of-custody, and reconciliations.

  • Lead a culture of safety: run drills, audit records/equipment, and share learnings without blame across the hospital.

  • Partner with doctors/techs for seamless handoffs, transparent estimates, and humble service recovery.
