Job Summary
Job Description
This is a 9-month faculty position (174 days) responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students. This position plays a substantial role for reviewing and maintaining the integrity of the curriculum offered by the discipline. Additionally, a 9-month faculty member will participate in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College.

Responsible for designing and implementing learning strategies for students.
- Teach generally between 48 and 49 credits per annum (across three terms) consisting of online lecture and lab courses.
- Teach assigned classes in accordance with current course outlines and as outlined by the college.
- Participate in instructor evaluation, assessment of student academic achievement, and demonstrate modification of teaching techniques in accordance with assessment feedback.
- Document modifications based on assessment results.
- Cultivate a variety of teaching styles in order to provide quality learning experiences to a diverse student population.
- Post and maintain student conference hours (office hours). A minimum of one conference hour is required each week for each section.
- Establish instructional standards in accordance with Academic policies and inform students, in writing (syllabi), of such standards and policies.
- Review and update course outcome guides and syllabi in cooperation with others.
- Modify teaching style based on assessment results and professional development experiences.
Plays a substantial role for reviewing and maintaining the integrity of the curriculum offered by the discipline/program.
- Maintain certificates and/or licenses necessary for employment eligibility.
- Maintain acceptable standards of conduct for the profession.
- Acquire new skills for program/discipline enhancement and development.
- Identify professional development activities which will lead to effective student learning.
- Attend and participate in professional development workshops.
Will participate in college activities, committees, and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College.
- Participate in evaluative process for self, department, and program.
- Participate in departmental or discipline specific meetings to provide guidance and subject matter expertise in the furtherance of the college’s strategic and academic plans including accreditation.
- Attend and contribute to an assigned committee on an advised and consent basis.
- Work with high schools to facilitate dual credit/dual enrollment opportunities.
- Work with four-year colleges and universities to facilitate articulation.
- Attend commencement and other college sponsored programs as requested.
- Promote the college mission, values, and vision.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS ROLE
- Possesses strong computer skills and commitment to the use of technology in instruction.
- Experience with Canvas LMS preferred.
- Teaching experience in mixed instructional modalities including on-line, hybrid, hyflex, and face to face
- Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in oral and written formats, including effective presentation skills.
- Experience in teaching or willingness to learn how to teach students the effective and ethical use of artificial intelligence (AI).
- Proficient with general office skills.
- Possesses a knowledge of a wide range teaching and learning theory.
- Teaching experience in a community college preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequently moving from stationary sitting positions to standing and walking.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in human Anatomy and Physiology
- Three (3) years prior teaching experience
