Senior Virtual Desktop Engineer - VDI

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and modernize enterprise virtualization solutions across cloud and on-premises platforms
• Lead the modernization of secure browser isolation and other zero-trust aligned virtualization strategies
• Manage hybrid environments such as VMware Horizon, Azure Virtual Desktop, Citrix DaaS, and Amazon Workspaces
• Ensure reliability, scalability, performance, and cost optimization of virtualized environments
• Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to integrate identity-based security and compliance frameworks
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management of desktop/application virtualization
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to virtualization, networking, and application delivery
• Provide subject matter expertise and technical leadership for evaluating and onboarding emerging EUC and virtualization technologies
• Partner with business stakeholders to align virtualization strategies with organizational goals
• Document architectures, policies, and procedures to support consistent operations and knowledge transfer

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree
• 7+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise virtualization solutions, with at least 2 years in cloud-based desktop and application delivery
• 5+ years of experience with Azure solutions such as Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon (on-prem & Horizon Cloud), Citrix DaaS, and Amazon Workspaces

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud-native monitoring and management solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with Azure solutions such as Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon (on-prem & Horizon Cloud), Citrix DaaS, and Amazon Workspaces.
• Strong knowledge of secure browser isolation technologies (e.g., Citrix Secure Browser, Palo Alto RBI, Island Enterprise browser, Zscaler Browser Isolation).
• Proficiency with Active Directory, Azure AD, SCCM/MECM, Intune, Windows 10/11, and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Hands-on expertise with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, vCenter, etc.).
• Experience with automation and orchestration using PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with identity-driven security frameworks and zero trust models.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, certificate management, and endpoint security integration.
• Experience with cloud-native monitoring and management solutions.

Preferred Certifications:

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or VMware Horizon Specialist.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or related Azure certification.
• Nutanix Certified Professional for hybrid-cloud environments.
• Cloud security certifications (e.g., Zscaler, Palo Alto, Menlo Security).
