What we are looking for
SCS Engineers is looking for a Senior Project Manager to serve solid waste clients and facilities in northeastern and east-central Wisconsin, particularly in the Green Bay and Fox Cities area. You will immediately be contributing to unique client projects and managing project execution and growing strong client relationships while supporting our full range of solid waste management and business development. Projects will focus on design, permitting, planning, construction, and operations of landfills, transfer stations, material recovery facilities, and other solid waste infrastructure. As part of other regional Wisconsin offices (Milwaukee, Madison, and Stevens Point) and SCS offices across the U.S., one among other SCS offices located in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois, as well as colleagues and experts across the U.S.

You will contribute to our growth in the Green Bay and Fox Cities area by meeting client needs, managing projects, and building a strong regional presence. In this role as a Senior Project Manager, you will:
Manage solid waste facility projects and facility operations.
Engage directly with clients by responding to inquiries, assessing needs, and developing tailored proposals for projects.
Strengthen relationships to complete quality work/projects.
Engage with the environmental community by networking and expanding connections while seeking new business opportunities.
Provide technical input that differentiates SCS from our competitors.
Collaborate with other Environmental Services and Solid Waste Services staff across the company.
Work with other SCS offices throughout Wisconsin and across national technical experts as we develop strategies for projects.
Lead and review technical proposals, provide quality project decisions, and draft and review proposals.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will work with a team to assist our clients in resolving a wide variety of solid waste and environmental challenges. Your work may include:
Applying engineering and scientific expertise to solid waste projects and related fields.
Development of engineering documents including calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
Coordinating projects and performing engineering and scientific analyses and methods, planning, and coordinating field work.
Preparing design drawings, specifications, and technical documents for permits and WMPs.
Developing solutions for diverse engineering problems including landfill liner, cover, leachate collection, and gas collection system design.
Preparing and reviewing technical documents and analyses including CAD drafting, mathematical modeling, permit applications and reports, hydrogeological study diagrams, permit applications, etc.
Supporting landfill operations and business needs including facility operations, financial analyses, permitting, expansions, and closure activities.
Regularly engaging with business leaders and successfully connecting them to local waste clients, including municipal, county, and private clients.
Supporting project planning and execution for consistency with client strategies and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree in a related field of engineering required. Civil, Environmental, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
Minimum of 15 years of related work experience required.
Licensed Professional Engineer in Wisconsin, or the ability to obtain licensure strongly preferred.
Solid waste management experience in the Central U.S. market preferred.
Prior experience with project and client management is required.
Experience working with private and/or municipal clients and familiarity with government environmental consulting.
Strong knowledge of landfill design and other waste infrastructure design and operation is required.
Valid driver’s license and driving record in good standing required.
