Engineering Supervisor, Facilities Management and Maintenance - ( 250000PP ) Description

The Engineering Supervisor, Facilities train and supervise staff in applying
construction, maintenance, and engineering principles to facility design,
construction, and maintenance projects. Develop and review specifications,
assign and monitor project tasks, assist with budget preparation, and ensure
effective application of construction techniques and standards. ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS: Train and supervise employees in applying engineering,
construction, and maintenance principles to project design and execution.
Review design drawings for compliance with division standards, codes, and best
practices; provide training in software applications such as spreadsheets and
computer-aided drafting. Assist with budgeting, prepare and review
specifications, and develop or update standard specifications for future use.
Oversee project planning, prioritization, progress tracking, and cost estimation.
Coordinate with contractors, architects, engineers, and internal stakeholders to
define project scope, constraints, and requirements. Ensure operating,
maintenance, and safety procedures are established and communicated. Provide
civil/structural design consultation, develop repair solutions, and apply
engineering seals as required. Plan and coordinate mandated facility upgrades
for safety and environmental compliance while staying current on engineering
developments, codes, and regulations. Perform other duties as directed.

Qualifications

LICENSES AND
CERTIFICATIONS
A valid drivers license from state of residence is required.
Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Facility

Management, Project Management or related degree is required.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering including four (4)
years of professional related experience in facilities design/construction OR
Bachelor's degree in business, Facility Management, Project Management in
Facilities/Construction including four (4) year of experience is required. Two (2)
years of leadership experience required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Must successfully complete Supervisor Assessment Center training within 90
days of hire. Must successfully complete NIMS Training within one (1) year of
entering job. Works in the office and outside under fairly good conditions.
Subject to occasional construction hazards, climbing, balancing, bending,
stooping, crouching, kneeling, reaching, lifting, walking, standing for long periods
of time while making field inspections. Must have an occupationally significant
combination of ability to apply engineering principles/techniques to
departmental methods/materials. Must have analytical ability to solve complex
problems. Ability to convey ideas effectively orally and in writing. Must be able to
estimate and calculate a budget based on experience and assist with budges of
various projects.
