DLZ Corporation currently seeking an experienced Hydraulics Project Manager to lead and deliver complex water resources and hydraulic engineering projects in our Columbus, OH office. This role combines project management responsibilities, including client engagement, budget, and schedules, with technical oversight in hydraulic modeling, stormwater management, and water resources infrastructure. You will play a critical role in guiding multidisciplinary teams and ensuring high-quality deliverables for municipal, state, and private sector clients.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage hydraulic and water resources projects from planning through design and delivery.
- Serve as point of contact for clients; develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Oversee project budgets, schedules and deliverables to ensure quality, timeliness, and profitability.
- Provide technical leadership in hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SWMM, 2D/3D modeling tools).
- Review and guide technical analyses for stormwater, floodplain studies, dam and reservoir systems, and water distribution networks.
- Coordinate with municipal, state, and federal agencies for permitting and compliance.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, providing technical guidance and career development support.
- Support business development activities, including proposal writing, presentations, and pursuit strategy.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with emphasis in hydraulics (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10-15 years of experience in hydraulics and project management.
- Strong understanding of stormwater systems, floodplain management, and municipal water infrastructure.
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Prior experience in proposal development and business development is strongly preferred.
