Brown & Brown is seeking a B e nefits Consultant to join our growing team in Milwaukee, WI!
The Benefits Consultant is r esponsible for employee benefits account management responsibilities. This includes day-to-day client contact and assistance with daily service functions. Utilizes technical expertise to retain present clients. Administers marketing and renewal functions. Assists Team Lead in servicing the financial consulting needs of the employee benefit clients. Evaluates financial and utilization metrics for clients including but not limited to monthly financial reports, utilization metrics and benchmarks as well as assist with other ad hoc reports and analysis.
How You Will Contribute:
Development and execution of client benefit strategy.
Independently advises clients on all areas of compliance.
Intermediate level of compliance, benchmarking, renewal & marketing, reporting & analytics, and able to perform these functions with little guidance.
Provide client utilization and financial reporting to Team Lead and to clients.
Partners with Team Lead to lead client meetings and presentations. Partners with Team Lead to onboard new clients.
Strong knowledge of and relationships with vendors.
Prepare and send monthly financial reports to clients with analysis of activity and large claim detail.
Prepare basic financial/underwriting exhibits as requested including but not limited to financial projections, large claim analysis, specific stop loss analysis, demographics analysis, IBNR, etc.
Work with Team Lead to develop reporting requirements and any deviations or customizations in those reports.
Assists Team Lead in preparing requests for proposals and renewals of benefit coverages
Other duties may be assigned.
Licenses and Certifications:
Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Minimum of 4-year degree or equivalent work experience required .
5+ years employee benefits experience with a thorough understanding and knowledge of employee benefits
1+ years financial experience
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Microsoft Excel - Strong to expert level skills required
S trong analytical and critical thinking ability
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently.
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
This position may require routine or periodic travel which may require the team member to drive their own vehicle or a rental vehicle. If required, acceptable results of a Motor Vehicle Record report at the time of hire and periodically thereafter, and maintenance of minimum acceptable insurance coverages are requirements of this position.
