Serves as bookkeeper under the direction of the Director of the regional library system which provides library service in five counties and includes nine branch libraries and a mobile library. Works closely with the system director and administrative assistant. This position implements and performs a variety of duties involved in the processing and generation of the Library System payroll functions.

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Reconciles, reviews and verifies all time sheets. Maintains all employee records and personnel files. Tracks and maintains employee paid time off records (i.e., vacations, sick leave, etc.). Administers employee benefits and employee deductions (i.e., health insurance, retirement deductions, life insurance, etc.) and payments. Prepares and remits various payroll reports and deposits (i.e., reports employee withholdings, reports for Affordable Care Act tracking and compliance, preparation and submission of W-2s). Coordinates new-hire payroll and benefits orientation, enrollment follow-up, and personnel record-keeping.

Qualifications and Skills: Minimum of two years bookkeeping experience and accounting software experience required. Two years of college preferred; additional bookkeeping/accounting classes on a college level is desirable. Relevant laws, statutes, rules, or guidelines pertaining to payroll, benefit administration. Maintaining employee master files, records, withholdings, contributions, etc. Performing payroll requirements and responsibilities in accordance with established time frames, reporting deadlines, and requirements. Preparing required state and federal payroll reports.

20 hours per week. Wage: $22.43 per hour. Benefits include paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid holidays. Covered by Workers Compensation, Unemployment Compensation, Public Employees Retirement Association (PERA), and Social Security. KRLS Wellness Incentive program. Probationary period is 6 months.
