Product Line Engineer, Refining and Petrochemical Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide. We are seeking a Product Line Engineer, Refining and Petrochemical i n our Columbus, Ohio location. This position will support internal and external customers globally in the refining and petrochemical and adjacent industries to select, plan, prepare, apply and evaluate products. The individual will lead efforts to educate internal and external users on Allied technology on a theoretical and practical level. This person will play a critical role in supporting the team globally as Allied rolls out the HPI initiative and integrates ACTCHEM technology and customers into the Allied family. The role is in the sales team but will be an interface between Sales, Applications Engineering, Research and Development and Engineering. The scope of the role is global with most time spent in North America. Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to customers and end users. This might include providing product recommendations, project planning, product preparation and installation information, postmortem analysis and recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team and partners.
  • Support sales team prior to, during and after visits. This might include physical travel, virtual support, or some combination.
  • Troubleshoot issues in the field. Often engaging at the intersection of R&D, Applications Engineering and Sales.
  • Prepare relevant educational and technical information for internal and external use.
  • Educate and demonstrate how to use products to internal and external audiences.
  • Plan and execute demos with customers, partners and end users.
  • Prepare reports about projects, studies, product deployment, etc. for internal and external customers.
  • Contributes to strategy development for HPI and tangent industries in North America and globally.
  • Travel globally to support sales and technical team, partners, customers and end users.
  • Support R&D on product development related to HPI industry
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in business or technical discipline, or equivalent experience desired.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in industrial sales, industrial projects and/or industrial operations desired.
  • Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required. Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships, internally and externally, with co-workers, partners, and customers.
  • An understanding of refractories and technical information of ceramics is beneficial and must demonstrate a desire and ability to learn quickly.
  • Knowledge of the HPI and related industries.
  • Must be comfortable operating in factories and industrial environments.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of energy and be self-motivated.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office applications.
  • Must possess a passport or ability to obtain one.
Working Environment:
  • Work out of home-based office.
  • Often working in heavy industry locations.
  • Required to wear appropriate PPE per Allieds Safety & Health policy.
