SUMMARY
We're looking for a highly technical and detail-oriented Cybers ecurity Architect & Technical Lead to partner directly with the Sr. Director of Cybersecurity & Architecture. This individual will be the technical backbone of our cybersecurity program - someone who thrives in hands-on work, excels at architectural thinking, and can serve as a trusted advisor across our IT and cloud environments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and optimize core security tools including Rapid7, SentinelOne, Mimecast, KnowBe4, and SecureONE.
- Monitor for and respond to security events and alerts, acting as an escalation point for incident response.
- Conduct vulnerability scans, validate findings, and work with teams to remediate risks.
- Implement and enforce endpoint protection, EDR, and phishing defense strategies.
- Support privileged access and password management through SecureONE and Keeper.
- Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and metrics for threat detection and compliance.
- Participate in security audits, tabletop exercises, and investigations as needed.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, network, and application teams to embed secure practices into operations.
- Provide hands-on guidance in securing and monitoring cloud environments, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Proactively identify security risks and recommend mitigations, balancing practicality with protection
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical background in security operations, incident handling, and tool management.
- Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and email security platforms.
- Working knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and compliance requirements (HIPAA, PCI, SOX).
- Proactive problem-solver with strong communication and documentation skills.
- For remote team members, HIPAA-compliant home office environment. Ability to work in a remote environment while performing required duties and remaining patient focused. Able to work varying shifts including early mornings/evenings to attend meetings and cross-training or support other initiatives.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum Required: B.S. in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum Required: 5 + years in a cybersecurity engineering or security operations role
LICENSES AND CREDENTIALS
- Not required but nice to have:
- CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, or similar
- AWS Security Specialty
- GIAC certifications (GCIH, GCIA, etc.)
SYSTEMS AND TECHNOLOGY
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Hands-on experience with:
- Endpoint Protection & EDR : SentinelOne
- Vulnerability Management & SIEM : Rapid7 InsightVM , InsightIDR
- Privileged Access : SecureONE
- Email Security : Mimecast
- Security Awareness Training : KnowBe4
- Password Management : Keeper
LOCATION
- This position is located in St Louis, Missouri and offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates living in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, N. Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas and Virginia may also be considered for remote work.
