POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of heavy machinery used in construction, excavation, roadwork, and site preparation. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to workplace safety.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

•   Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and forklifts in a safe and  efficient manner.

•    Perform site preparation, excavation, grading, trenching, and material handling as directed.

•    Conduct daily equipment inspections and perform basic preventative maintenance.

•    Follow project plans, blueprints, and grade specifications to ensure accuracy.

•    Work closely with site supervisors and crew members to complete projects on schedule.

•    Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA standards, and safety regulations.

•    Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, and maintenance needs promptly.

•    Maintain clear communication with team members to ensure efficient workflow.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•    High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

•    Proven experience as a heavy equipment operator in construction, excavation, or a related field.

•    Valid driver’s license; CDL license a plus.

•    Heavy Equipment Operator certification or relevant training strongly preferred.

•    Strong knowledge of equipment operation, safety practices, and job site procedures.

•    Ability to read and interpret construction plans and grade stakes.

•    Good physical condition with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

•    Strong mechanical aptitude.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

•    Outdoor work environment with exposure to noise, dust, and weather conditions.

•    May require overtime, weekends, or extended hours depending on project needs.
