The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Associate Deputy Director of Permanency Administration. Subject to management approval, this position will provide high level consultation and input to the Chief Deputy Director regarding all areas of permanency services. Additionally, the position will direct, plan, and manage permanency programs, providing expertise and oversight of permanency services and systems.

• As Associate Deputy Director for Permanency Administration, formulates, designs, and directs the implementation of policies and procedures regarding the provision of permanency services for the Department
• Directs, plans, and manages permanency programs, providing expertise and oversight of services and systems
• Serves as full line supervisor
• Represents the Deputy Director and the Department before other state and federal agencies, private organizations, elected officials, courts, and lay groups with regard to child welfare issues impacting permanency and human trafficking programs
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above

• Requires an MSW or master's degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate.
• Requires four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR five years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master's degree in a related human services field, in business administration, or a juris doctorate.

• 3 years of professional experience managing or conducting subsidy support/adoptions services in a public or private organization.
• 5 years of professional experience managing or conducting child welfare casework services.
• 4 years of professional experience in the oversight of a large program for a public or private organization.
• 4 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
• 4 years of professional experience conducting planning activities on a statewide basis.
• 4 years of professional experience in the development of strategies for the improvement of program services.
• 4 years of professional experience conducting community outreach as a representative of a public or business organization.

Term Appointment:
Candidates hired into a term position shall be appointed for a term of 4 years and are subject to a probationary period. The term may be renewed for successive four-year terms at the Director of Permanency's discretion.

This position has been found to meet the requirements in section 4A-101 of the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act requiring the occupant/employee to file a Statement of Economic Interest. The Illinois Governmental Ethics Act (5 ILCS 420/4A et seq.) requires certain state officials and employees to file annual Statements of Economic Interest with the Office of the Secretary of State that will be made available for examination and copying by the public. All employees required to file a Statement of Economic Interest are also required to file the Supplemental Statement of Economic Interest with the Executive Ethics Commission. (See Executive Order 15-09) Fines and penalties apply to untimely filings.
