Summary:

The USRM Servicing Technology group is seeking to hire a Senior Software Engineer for an IVR bot development team. In this role you will work within an Agile delivery team to provide solutions that address the needs of customers, agents, and representatives in our call centers. The team uses Amazon Lex and Connect services to build voice bots that allow a phone caller to self-service activities for a policy, e.g., make a payment or request a copy via email.

In this role, you would

  • Develop solutions that meet customer needs and align with technology guardrails and strategy
  • Develop effective, defect free source code meeting business requirements and Liberty standards
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and software problems, takes appropriate corrective action and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions
  • Interact with other teams, Product Owner and other Stakeholders to understand and define user stories at a deep technical level
  • Depict highly complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences
  • Plan work out appropriately, proactively escalate issues that may impact scope, schedule, and budget
  • Participating in Agile Ceremonies (refinement, planning, demos, retros, etc.)
  • Mentor new developers and junior developers
  • Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities
  • Participate in remediation efforts during incident management events and/or provide consultative recommendations on viable resolutions
  • Monitor system performance, capacity and cost and report changes
  • Practice learning, curiosity and courage to enable strong business outcomes
  • Explore AI and machine learning experimentation by prototyping innovative AI-driven solutions to enhance business processes and solve complex challenges
  • Help lead implementation of key functional components each sprint, becoming its subject matter expert and proactively identifying any gaps in requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of five years of software engineering experience
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with AWS services for IVR, e.g., Lex, Connect and Lambda
  • Experience with API development using NodeJS and TypeScript/JavaScript
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and continuous testing
  • Experience with application observability tools, e.g., DataDog
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • AWS or comparable certifications a plus

The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role.
