Train, mentor, and supervise underwriting staff.
Proven proficiency in Encompass LOS , including navigation of underwriting screens, condition management, and document review.
Collaborate with loan officers and processors to improve application quality
Conduct performance reviews and manage staffing resources
Help the team to meet or exceed productivity and quality standards as defined by management.
Maintain effective communication with internal teams and external partners.
Participate in video conferencing and remote collaboration.
Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work overtime as needed to meet business demands.
Maintain a positive work environment by developing helpful relationships with additional team stakeholders: mortgage loan officers, mortgage servicers, underwriters, and mortgage operations manager/branch managers to ensure a smooth loan process.
Required Qualifications:
810 years in mortgage operations, with 34 years in a managerial role.
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities
Knowledge of mortgage products and regulations
Leadership and team management
Proficiency in LOS and AUS systems (e.g., Encompass, DU, LP)
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic work environment.
Comfortable with remote work tools and video conferencing platforms.
