Position Overview
The Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations for our construction and fencing projects, ensuring that all jobs are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and the ability to manage crews, materials, schedules, and client relationships. The ideal candidate has proven experience in construction project management with a focus on fencing and related infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Operations Management
Plan, coordinate, and supervise construction and fencing projects from start to finish.
Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion.
Oversee procurement of materials, tools, and equipment; maintain accurate inventory levels.
Monitor job site performance and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Resolve on-site issues and coordinate problem-solving between field crews, subcontractors, and management.
Team Leadership
Manage and lead foremen, crew members, and subcontractors to ensure efficiency and productivity.
Train and mentor staff on best practices, safety, and quality standards.
Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular evaluations.
Quality Control & Compliance
Conduct site inspections & update Trello to ensure work meets company standards and customer expectations.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, OSHA regulations, and permit requirements.
Implement quality assurance processes to reduce rework and warranty claims.
Client & Stakeholder Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution.
Provide regular progress updates and address concerns promptly.
Collaborate with sales and estimating teams to ensure accurate project scope and pricing.
Financial & Administrative Duties
Track project budgets, expenses, and labor hours; report variances to management.
Review and approve vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, and change orders.
Assist in preparing bids, proposals, and project documentation.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
Experience: Minimum 5 years in construction operations, with at least 2 years in fencing or related specialty.
Experience with Bidding is preferred
Experience with Estimation preferred
Experience with Permitting is preferred
Bilingual is preferred (English / Spanish)
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
Proficient in CRM & Project Management software (e.g., Zoho CRM, Trello and QuickBooks) and MS Office Suite.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
