Job Summary
Job Description
The Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for supporting the litigation process from filing through trial. This role requires an individual who is detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and extremely knowledgeable of discovery procedures, court rules, and Texas personal injury law. The ideal candidate is highly organized, precise, and capable of working both independently and as part of a dynamic litigation team.
Document Drafting
•Drafting documents
•This includes, but is not limited to petitions, disclosures, discovery, notices, motions, scheduling orders, mediation position statements, and generalcorrespondence.
•Create drafts that conform to the guidelines and instruction provided within the General Notes and are proofread for correctness and accuracy before leadership review.
•Create and maintain trial binders, exhibit lists, and witness preparation materials.
•Conduct detailed reviews of medical records, police reports, and other case evidence.
•Prepare notebooks, summaries, and case chronologies for attorneys.
•Ensure adherence to all applicable court rules, local rules, and Texas personal injury procedures and guidelines
Filevine Case Maintenance
•Serve as a point of contact for case updates, supporting the Senior Litigation Attorney and maintaining clear communication with clients
•Coordinate with clients, experts, and witnesses to support case preparation and trial readiness
•Keep organized and maintain the information and documents within Filevine cases.
•This includes pleadings, deadlines, document production, calendar, party information, court information, mediation information, team information, main file phase, and litigation subphases.
Expenses & Funding
•Responsible for logging expenses within the case file.
This includes, but is not limited to, eFiling fees, process server fees, court reporter fees, vendor invoices, retained expert fees, private investigator fees, mediation fees, and various case research fees.
Calendar Management
•Add litigation events to the case file’s calendar.
•This includes but not limited to depositions, hearings, client meetings, deadlines, and due dates
•Litigation team must be added to the entry, as well as any additional information such as Zoom links, addresses, or general notes about the event, are to be updated no later than three days prior to the event.
•Assist with pre-trial preparation, including subpoenas, scheduling depositions, and court filings
QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
•Strong understanding of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable court requirements.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•High level of attention to detail, organization, and accuracy.
•Ability to handle high volumes of work while remaining focused and proactive.
•Experience drafting and managing discovery, legal documents, and trial preparation.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal case management systems.
•Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and independently manage assigned responsibilities.
•Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
