Position Overview
A leading industrial services provider is seeking a high-performing Regional Controller to oversee the financial operations of its West Coast business, which includes 14+ locations and generates over $100M in annual revenue. This highly visible leadership role will function as a hybrid Controller/Junior CFO and serve as a key business partner to the operations team. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable in both finance and accounting disciplines, and has demonstrated success in scaling financial controls, enhancing processes, and aligning field operations with corporate objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis across a multi-location region.
Partner closely with operational leadership to support decision-making, identify trends, and improve profitability.
Oversee a regional accounting team, including three direct-report accountants and several administrative team members via a dotted line structure.
Guide and enforce the month-end close, reconciliation, WIP/job costing, and inventory accounting processes.
Implement and improve internal controls, automation, and reporting procedures across field offices and repair centers.
Act as a strategic driver in ERP optimization and contribute to the ongoing integration of multiple entities into a unified system.
Drive standardization and efficiency in accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial data flows from decentralized offices.
Represent the regional business unit in monthly financial reviews with executive leadership and stakeholders, including private equity oversight.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate brings the agility to work in both structured and unstructured environments, ideally having transitioned from a larger corporate environment into a high-growth mid-market company. They should demonstrate strong leadership, technical financial depth, and the ability to influence change across an evolving enterprise.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred).
Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a Controller or equivalent leadership role.
Strong blend of accounting and financial planning experience (FP&A).
Proven ability to implement and optimize financial systems, controls, and reporting tools.
Experience managing multi-site operations in field services, repair services, or industrial equipment sectors preferred.
Skilled in month-end close, reconciliations, job costing, margin analysis, and trend evaluation.
High proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Sage preferred).
Demonstrated success leading automation and process improvement initiatives.
Executive presence with strong communication and presentation skills; able to interface with C-suite and board-level stakeholders.
Comfortable presenting at financial reviews and contributing to enterprise-level strategy discussions.
Preferred Experience
Hands-on leadership experience within both large and mid-size organizations.
Developed and executed process “playbooks” for improving financial reporting and controls.
Familiarity with Percentage of Completion (POC) and WIP accounting.
Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and ERP consolidation projects.
Has reduced close/reporting cycles and automated financial processes such as invoicing and reconciliation.
Background supporting manufacturing, OEM, or MRO operations across rotating and process equipment is a plus.
Performance Expectations
Deliver timely and accurate financial reports and variance analyses.
Standardize and enhance the monthly close and reconciliation processes.
Automate and streamline transactional workflows.
Partner with operations to build and maintain effective budgets and forecasts.
Instill discipline and accountability across field locations for financial data accuracy.
Serve as the financial voice of the West Coast region in executive forums.
