Scope of Position
The Flow Cytometry Laboratory performs routine and highly complex testing in immunophenotyping for analysis of various disease states including Immunodeficiency and Leukemia/Lymphoma other flow cytometric related testing. The department is staffed Monday through Friday, 24 hours and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Technician in the department will perform highly complex testing of immunophenotyping as well as other miscellaneous testing under the coordination of the lead technologist and director. Handles phone inquiries regarding patient results and specimen collection. The Medical Laboratory Technician will participate in quality control, quality assurance and general laboratory duties including but not limited to filing, data entry, and inventory control.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Med Lab Science or biological science degree, with MT/MLS certification. If not certified, applicant must obtain MLS certification within 1 year of hire, with first board of certification test attempt within the first six months of hire.
