About the Role

Location: 2585 Glades Circle, Weston, FL, 33327

Sagemont Preparatory School is seeking a passionate and experienced School Counselor for grades 6-12 to develop and implement a counseling program that assists students in their personal, social, and academic development. The counselor will support middle and high school students, providing guidance, counseling, and educational resources that help them achieve academic success and foster emotional well-being.

You will also

  • Advise and counsel students on academic, educational, and short-term social and emotional concerns.
  • Coordinate, develop, and implement support systems to meet students' social, emotional, behavioral, medical, and life skills needs.
  • Maintain and process student learner profiles that outline school-based accommodations.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians on how to collaborate with the school to best support student progress.
  • Be on the Advisory team to develop and implement weekly grade-level lessons and programming to enhance the student experience.
  • Assist with coordinating Advanced Placement testing, PSAT, PreACT and middle school standardized assessments and process accommodations for standardized testing.
  • Counsel individual students and small groups using appropriate theories and techniques, considering each student's unique needs.
  • Work with students on organizational, time management, and study habits.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to ensure student success.
  • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and interventions.
  • Conduct life skills workshops and support new student orientations.
  • Attend staff meetings and professional development workshops.

What We Are Looking For

  • Master's degree in counseling, guidance, education, psychology, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience working with middle and high school students in a counseling capacity.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive topics professionally.
  • Proficiency with technology, particularly with digital-based standardized tests.
