POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Director, Finance leads, organizes and directs all aspects of operational finance activities. Responsible for monthly operational reviews, budgets, projections, ad hoc analyses and pro formas for Medical Group Services to create consistency and standard practices across Medical Group Services. Highly collaborative with the Division CFO in collectively leading the development of standard, consistent processes and reporting that align with the Strategic Priorities of Medical Group Services.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead the preparation of physician practice financial and statistical reports and ad hoc financial and operational analyses, physical compensation calculations and reconciliations, and pro forma development. Monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled across the Medical Group Services enterprise.

  • Identify and report undesirable trends and potential business opportunities and makes recommendations for action, and direct the preparation of internal financial reports and assures that the reports reflect the financial position of the practices. Analyze and explore opportunities to reduce operating costs and increase revenues based on data trends and financial reporting.

  • Responsible for direction and submission, on a timely basis, of all financial data required for Medical Group Services Monthly Operating Reviews.

  • Lead the development of long and short -term operational and capital budgets which are supported by the hospital's long- and short-range plans and objectives.

  • Lead and advise Medical Group Services leadership team, in coordination with the DCFO, in the development of long and short- range group practice operations plans/budgets which may include service demand analysis, resources availability analysis and cost benefit analysis of proposed capital and staffing expansions.

  • Lead the development and consistent oversight of financial tools and resources that provide strategic insight and guidance.
  • Implement and manage the standard operating metrics, reports, and dashboards for Medical Group Services ensuring alignment with strategic priorities: quality and service, growth, operations excellence and talent.

  • Monitor performance to ensure fiscal responsibilities are fulfilled across the Medical Group Services enterprise.

  • Serve as a financial representative at Medical Group Services monthly operating report (MOR) meeting and leads all efforts to ensure package(s) are prepared, reviewed, and distributed to all participating parties in an appropriate timeframe to allow for review prior to meeting. Lead the oversight of strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost analysis, and forecasting.

  • Develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operations information and makes actionable recommendations.
  • Train the field and Health Support Center (HSC) Medical Group Services Financial Staff in financial management matters, policies, and processes

  • Regular and reliable attendance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or related field.

Masters of Business Administration (MBA) preferred

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 7- 10 years of progressive accounting/financial experience, including 3 years of supervisory experience preferred. Preferably 3 years in a physician practice management or healthcare-related environment.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE:

Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

  • Moderate Computer Skills -- Frequent use of electronic mail, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, graphics, etc. Ability to create, maintain and incorporate simple functions into documents, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations to support business objectives.

Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.

Moderate overnight travel (up to 15%) by land and/or air.
