Respiratory Clinical Supervisor

The Clinical Supervisor assumes responsibility for the Respiratory Care Department in the absence of the Director The Supervisor is a licensed Respiratory Therapist who assists the Director in the daily operations for the department.

 Responsibilities include:

• Ensure department compliance with regulatory agencies and policies and procedures
• Inventory of all equipment and supplies
• Staff scheduling and performance evaluations
• Coordinate staff with medical and nursing personnel
• Maintains infection control procedures
• Instructs medical and nursing staff on technical aspects of respiratory patient care management

Required Background:

• American Medical College Association College Program Graduate A.A.S/B.S
• NYS Respiratory Therapist License
• Registered Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Therapy
• BLS Certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS Certification within 90 days of hire
• Minimum of three years of critical care experience
• Prior supervisory experience
• Working knowledge of current standards or mechanical ventilation and ventilators
• Intubation experience
