You will report to a Lead Foreman and contribute to framing scopes from layout through drywall-ready finishes in coordination with project teams and trades. This is an opportunity to join a tight-knit, safety-first team with a reputation for quality work and long-standing client relationships. Successful Carpenters in this role can expect opportunities for advancement into Foreman and Lead Foreman positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform accurate layout and installation of:

o CFS framing for walls, ceilings, and soffits

o Wood partitions and ceiling systems

o Blocking, backing, and bracing for fixtures and equipment.

o Openings for doors, windows, and MEP penetrations

  • Execute framing to meet fire ratings, deflection tolerances, and seismic requirements.
  • Coordinate with MEP trades to ensure framing accommodates rough-ins and penetrations.
  • Assist Lead Foreman with material deliveries and onsite staging.
  • Work under the direction of the Lead Foreman to meet daily and weekly production goals.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and contribute to job site safety culture
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and layout equipment correctly and safely
  • Follow company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
  • Participate in safety meetings and actively report hazards or quality issues to the Lead Foreman
  • Perform self-checks and assist with field quality control reviews
  • Execute punch list completion activities

Technical Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings (plans, elevations, sections, and details)
  • Skilled in the use of layout tools such as levels, chalk lines, and laser levels
  • Competent in both CFS and wood framing systems
  • Familiar with California Building Code (CBC), basic seismic construction methods, and basic fire-rated assembly requirements
  • Able to follow layout instructions and execute precise measurements and cuts
  • Experience with the use of battery and pneumatic tools, including screw guns, impact drivers, and powder-actuated tools (Hilti/DeWalt).

Minimum Requirements:

  • 4–7 years of experience in commercial framing or general carpentry
  • Willingness to be trained by the Lead Foreman and other crew members in new skills. Work to improve existing skills in a supportive environment
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and performing physical labor in a variety of field conditions
  • High school diploma or GED (trade school or apprenticeship preferred)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred
  • Willingness to use mobile tools for timesheets or documentation (training provided)

    Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly compensation
  • Consistent, full-time work on rewarding custom residential projects
  • We offer consistent schedule (Monday to Friday 7:30am-3:30pm)
  • Supportive team environment that values quality and camaraderie
  • Opportunity to grow within a highly respected builder
  • 401(k) employee investment program
